The main activities of CIRMAD have been/are:
- Medicinal wildlife conservation: research, conservation education and training, from 2010-2012.
- Chimpanzee Conservation, under its Participatory Programme for the Protection of Chimpanzees (PAPPro-Chimps): conservation education, community engagement, and law enforcement, from 2014 to date.
- Promotion of traditional handicrafts and livelihoods: awareness creation, training, and promotion, 2016 to date.
- Reforestation: tree planting, and forest protection, from 2014 to date.
- Mubako language development
