Ending the 2019 World Wildlife Day week, with this S. O. S. for the Ako-Mbembe Forest Reserve, one of the chimpanzee habitat sites of the North West Region of Cameroon, which is currently in the process of officially becoming a Forest Management Unit (FMU 11-010) for industrial forest exploitation. The 2011 Regional Action Plan for the Conservation of the Nigeria-Cameroon chimpanzee recognized and rated it as “IMPORTANT PRIORITY SITE” for the conservation of the IUCN Red-listed ENDANGERED chimp species (Pan troglodytes ellioti).
